2008 European Physical Society Accelerator Group Accelerator Prizes

The European Physical Society Accelerator Group (EPS-AG) Accelerator Prizes have been awarded since 1994. The prizes are for individuals with no restriction as to nationality. They are:

  1. An Achievement Prize for outstanding work in the accelerator field with no age limit. The winner will receive an engraved medal, and make an oral presentation during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC’08.

  2. An Achievement Prize for a recent, significant contribution to the accelerator field with no age limit. The winner will rerceive an engraved medal, and make an oral presentation during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC’08.

  3. A Prize for an individual in the early part of his or her career, having made a recent significant, original contribution to the accelerator field. The winner will receive a framed certificate, and a cash prize of 2000 Euros, and will also make an oral presentation during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC’08.

  4. A prize, awarded to a student registered for a PhD or diploma in accelerator physics or engineering or to a trainee accelerator physicist or engineer in the educational phase of their professional career, for the quality of work and promise for the future. The winner will receive a framed certificate, and a cash prize of 1000 Euros and will have the opportunity to make a short oral presentation during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC’08.

    Eligible candidates for Prize d) must apply to be considered using the form accessible via JACoW profiles in the EPAC'08 SPMS, by the deadline for the submission of abstracts to the conference (16 January 2008). Students' work will be judged on the basis of contributions submitted to the conference and presented during the special student poster session scheduled on Sunday, 22 June, 2008. Justifications from supervisors/line managers are required to support applications. They must reach the EPAC Conferences Coordinator by 16 January 2008.

  5. Best student posters, awarded to 2 students whose work, presented in the special student poster session is particularly meritorious. Each winner will receive a cash prize of 500 Euros, presented during the Accelerator Prizes Special Session during EPAC'08.

    Eligible candidates for Prize e) must apply to present their work in the special student poster session using the form accessible via JACoW profiles in the EPAC'08 SPMS, by the deadline for the submission of abstracts to the conference (16 January 2008).

The winners of Prizes a), b), c) and d) will make oral presentations of the work which earned them the prize during EPAC'08 on Thursday 26 June.
